I’ve been an athlete since the age of 5, all the way through high school. After college, I was in the best shape of my life but then after some turmoil, I fell into some pretty bad eating happens. Lot’s of soda and fast food. Unfortunately that phase lasted almost 15 years, as I was steadily gaining ~3lbs / year.
Istated to develop ankle pain from the extra weight I was carrying around with me. I would wake up in tears, honestly. I couldn’t walk, couldn’t stand. Hell, I couldn’t even put on a ski boot when boating.
I came to the realization that I was only 2” on my waist away from being pre-diabetic and it was very frightening.
So after my body had been telling me “enough” for all those years, I finally listened and stopped drinking all the sodas, stopped eating all the Whataburger, and started going to the gym regularly.
I lost that 50lbs and discovered Sprint Distance Running. I earned 10 wins between 2009 and 2013. I also discovered my passion for cycling and was a board member of the Houston Racing Triathlon Club from ’09 – ’13
I’m also a member of the RAW running group and social member of the Austin Triathlon Club.
